We are happy to announce our third walk in the series of programmes planned around the NGMA Arboretum. Do join us for the walk in the NGMA. The walk is being taken by Mr. S. Karthikeyan who will tell us about the trees in bloom during this month. Registrations are limited, so do contact us well in advance.

NGMA's TREE OF THE MONTH
Bombax is a genus of mainly tropical trees in the mallow family. It is native to western Africa, the Indian subcontinent, southeast Asia, as well as sub-tropical regions of east Asia and northern Australia. Common names for the genus include Silk Cotton Tree, Simal, Red Cotton Tree, Kapok and simply Bombax.

NGMA Bengaluru turns 3!
The NGMA, Bengaluru will complete 3 years on 18th February 2012. I would like to thank all of you for helping us make NGMA one of the important cultural hubs of Bangalore.

We are celebrating the third anniversary of the establishment of NGMA, Bengaluru. A gallery treasure hunt, a clay workshop, and an art quiz have been organised as part of this celebration.

Toto Funds the Arts India and the National Gallery of Modern Art, Bengaluru have collaborated to organise a Literary Festival at NGMA Bengaluru

NGMA Bengaluru is holding a retrospective of Rumale Chennabasaviah Varna Mythri Rumale Chennabasaviah Centenary Retrospective 2011. As usual we have organized a number of outreach programmes during the period of the exhibition.

An open consultation on BANGALORE AS A CREATIVE CITY: Towards Policy Recommendations organized by the Centre for the Study of Culture and Society (CSCS) in collaboration with the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) Bengaluru

NGMA Bengaluru has organized 15 outreach programmes during the period of the exhibition An Artist’s Quest: KK Hebbar – A Retrospective.

The Lalit Kala Akademy has compiled and brought out in the form of a book the quarterly art journal, ARTRENDS, which was published by the Progressive Painters’ Association in Madras between 1961 and 1982.
